The Athens Chamber Singers will feature the music of Elliot Z. Levine in concert April 11, 2010, at Friendship Presbyterian Church, Athens, at 4 p.m. The week prior, Mr. Levine will be composer-in-residence speaking with music students and teachers at the University of Georgia, Burney Harris Middle School and Comer Elementary. Mr. Levine and the Chamber Singers will take part in the Shabbat service at Children of Israel Temple, Athens, Friday, April 9. He will also speak at the worship service Sunday, April 11, at Friendship Presbyterian Church. This project is supported by the Georgia Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities and through appropriation from the Georgia General Assembly. Other sponsors include R.E.M., Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Athens Banner-Herald.
